Little Jerusalem Badlands Kansas

Little Miniature Tiny Bisti

Every drive I've ever taken through Kansas was through highways surrounded by farms, wind turbines, and little towns (each with their own little rice-tower looking thing that looks the same in every town). The topography ranges from flat, flat, and slightly hilly. I find beauty in a lot of things but quite frankly, Kansas bores me. This park is an interesting exception. You can learn more here.

Surrounded by rolling plains, nobody would guess in a million years that this was lurking nearby. This isolated set of eroded formations is protected and nearby hiking oppurtunites are sadly limited. The park adminstration does not seem to allow people in the badlands, the hiking trails follow along the rim and have overlooks, but I couldnt just roam around in the small canyons beneath me. So, all my photos are from distant, top-down viewpoints.

I have photographed many of the signs you can find at the trailhead and along one of the hiking trails, I will let those speak for this place more than me. It's interesting but I don't have a lot more to say! I admit I'm disappointed didn't get to roam around like I could at the Bisti.
